Biography
TM Krishna is an Indian Carnatic vocalist, author, and activist known for his innovative approach to classical South Indian music and his efforts to make it more inclusive and socially engaged. Combining rigorous traditional training with a spirit of experimentation, he has expanded the reach of Carnatic music while addressing issues of caste, gender, and social equity in the arts. Krishna is also a prolific writer and speaker, advocating for cultural reform and using his platform to challenge hierarchical structures in classical music, making him one of India’s most influential contemporary musicians and thought leaders.
